Zellma Whitehead

It is with deep sorrow that we announce Zellma Whitehead, age 95, peacefully entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of those whose lives she touched.

There are people who simply pass through this world, and then there are those who leave footprints on the hearts of everyone they meet. Ms. Zellma Whitehead was one of those remarkable people.

Zellma was preceded in death by her parents, LLoyd and Iretha Whitehead; her brothers, Johnnie Whitehead of Picayune, Mississippi, Oreace Whitehead of Slidell, Louisiana, LLoyd "Brother" Whitehead of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Richard Whitehead of Slidell, Louisiana; her sisters Jimmie Lou Cooper of Picayune, Mississippi, and Clydell Whitehead Royal of New Orleans, Louisiana; and her longtime companion, Roland Raymond of New Orleans,Louisiana.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her beloved sister, Barbara Whitehead of Picayune, Mississippi, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.

There will be a Repast Service at New Beginnings Baptist Church following the burial service.
