Wayne Everette
Goff
February 18, 1965 – February 11, 2026
Wayne Everette Goff was born on February 18, 1965, to Lynzell Stacks and Mary E. Goff in Picayune, MS. Coming of age in Catahoula, MS, Wayne developed a love for community and an outgoing personality and attended Little Providence Baptist Church with his mother in his early life.
A believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, Wayne lived the chief command to love thy neighbor as thy self. He expressed his love, kindness, and acceptance for all that he met and made an indelible impact on his family, friends, and community throughout his life.
Wayne loved his wife, Georgia, dearly and would protect her with his life. A father of seven, Wayne was committed to the progress of his children. He was proud of their advancement but cared most about their character and relationship with God. Wayne was a loving, doting, and caring son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He's left a gift of memories with each one of us that he knew and loved.
He had both the gifts of teaching and encouragement and could talk to anyone. He used his gifts to share funny stories and lessons he had learned throughout his life with others, triggering laughter but also reflection on our own lives. Wayne was a student of his family lineage and acted as a liaison, bringing family and community closer together in love.
Wayne played football for and graduated from Hancock North Central High School and obtained an associate's degree in carpentry from Pearl River Community College and an associate's degree in paralegal studies from Phillip's Junior College. He later worked in the construction, carpentry, logistics, and electrical industries. Wayne founded Oysters of the Bay of St. Louis Research and Development and was an advocate for food and climate justice for Mississippi Gulf Coast seafood farmers in associate with the Gulf Coast Center for Law and Policy.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 35 years, Georgia Marie Goff, formerly Georgia Flood; his children Kerri L. Wooten (Benjamin Wooten), Eric Hunt, Destiny Flood, Rico Hall, Breanna Young (Ray Young, Jr.), and Audrianna Goff; his siblings, Karen Jones (Phillip Jones), Cedric Goff, Antrice Walker (Lee Walker), Vandell McGill (Teamberya McGill), Ray "Fernell" McGill, and Jeremy McGill; his grandchildren, Kolby Hunt, Leilani Hunt, Caleb Buckley, Joshua Buckley, Tristan Thompson, Logan Hunt, Eric Hunt, Jr., Cameron Ingram, Hassan Saucier, Ray Young, III, and Jordan Rogers; great-grandchild, Sy'eir Handy; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and close friends.
Wayne was predeceased by his father, Lynzell Stacks, mother, Mary Goff, sister, Ernestine "Neicey" Goff, and son, Jordan Wayne Goff.
