Walter Acker, Jr.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Walter "Butch" Acker, Jr, age 59, of Pearlington, MS, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Gulfport Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Slidell Church of Christ, 994 Old Spanish Trail, Slidell, Louisiana 70458. Visitation Hours will be from 12:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. 

Walter was a member of Slidell Church of Christ, he served in the U.S. Army, and he graduated from Hancock North Central High School where he played football.

Preceded in death by his father Walter Acker Sr.

Survivors included, one daughter, Natasha Acker of TN., two grandsons, and two granddaughters, Mother Rose Acker of Pearlington, MS., two brothers; Dorian Acker, VA., Cedric Acker of Slidell, LA., two sisters; Desiree Lewis of Southaven, MS., Chandra Acker, of Gulfport, MS., a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Interment will take place in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery located in Pearlington, Mississippi.
