Sarah Richardson Travis, age 93, of Poplarville, Mississippi, transitioned to be with the Lord on November 17, 2024. A dedicated member of Newton Chapel United Methodist Church, Mrs. Sarah served on various organizations including Mission #2, the Usher Board, Choir, Kitchen direction, and as a neighborhood usher. She was known for her commitment to serving her community wherever needed. Her professional life included many years of service at Stennis Space Center.

She is survived by her five sons, Louis, Larry, Charles, Michael, and Clyde Jr.; four daughters, Augustine, Arlean, Selastine, and Gloria; extended family members Angela Smith, Gregorey Smith, and A'Miya Smith; along with 36 grandchildren, 104 great-grandchildren, and 75 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with visitation from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Newton Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 5 Moore Road, Poplarville, Mississippi.

Burial will follow in Dave Monday Cemetery, under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
