Samia Lyn Rogers, born on January 16, 2009, was a beloved daughter of Samuel Rogers, Sr., and Whitney Cousin. She was a vibrant member of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Norman J. Farve. Samia was actively involved in the church's youth group, 'Thee Awaken Generation'.

Samia attended Slidell Jr. High School, where she was a dedicated member and captain of the Cheer Team. Her passion for cheerleading extended to her role as a coach for the Mayfield Elementary Cheer Team. Known for her leadership and infectious smile, Samia was admired for her love of nature, fashion, and her unique fondness for root beer.

She is predeceased by her grandparents, Raymond (Thaddeus) Cousin and Danita Rogers. Samia leaves behind her cherished family: her parents, Samuel Rogers, Sr., and Whitney Cousin; her sisters, Shelbi and Skye Rogers; her brothers, Spencer and Samuel Rogers, Jr.; her godbrother, Kole Laurent; her aunts, Lacie Guillory, Alanna Thibodeaux, Zipporah Wilson, and Nastasia Wimes; her uncles, Neil Cousin, Chris Wimes, and Cortelius Wilson; her grandmother, Andrea Trouillier Lane; her great-grandparents, Billie and Willie Rogers; her godmother, Laurie Laurent; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11 a.m., with visitation from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Living The Word International Ministries.

Samia will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

Samia's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
