Lex Doby

It is with solemnity and sadness that we share the news Mr. Lex Doby, 95, of Picayune, MS, passed away September 24, 2026, in Dunwoody, Georgia.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Pilgrim Bound Baptist Church, 921 Baylous Street, Picayune, MS 39466. Visitation Viewing Hours will be from 12:00 p.m. until 12:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Interment Service will be held at the Picayune 8th Street Cemetery following the funeral service.

Lex served as a faithful, tithing member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church. He retired from John C. Stennis Space Center . He was a former member of the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.

He was preceded in death by his wife Christine Frelix-Doby, one daughter, Jeanette Doby, and grandson Davis J. Blackshire

Survived by two daughters: Constance Doby of Dunwoody, GA, and Karen Robinson of Lyndhurst, OH, one son Kelvin Lex Doby of Fayetteville, GA, four grandchildren: Nicholas B. Blackshire, Khayla A. Doby, Noah S. Robinson, and Kalen Lex Doby, one great granddaughter, Kendall Blackshire, one God-sister, Sis. Terrilyn Smith, of Picayune, MS., and one godson Davis Barnes of Picayune, MS., and a host of extended family members and friends.

Reverend Henry Marshal, Pastor and Reverend Steven Owens of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Moss Point, MS, will be officiating the services.
