James Edward "Ida" Manning, age 59, of Picayune, MS, passed away on March 15, 2022, at his home. Born in Brookhaven, MS, Ida was a beloved member of his community. He was a member of Greater Pleasant Valley Church under the leadership of Rev. E.L. Fox and later joined MT. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Robert L. Lander. Ida was known for his love of people, never meeting a stranger, and his enjoyment of music, playing dominoes, and cards.

He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Ruby Manning; his son, Travis Holloway, and daughter-in-law, Daneshia Smith Holloway; his sister, Martha (Pastor Kenneth) Baker of Picayune, MS; his brothers, Charles (Hyenthia) Connley of Picayune, MS, and Johnny (Terry) Manning of Tacoma, WA; his loving and longtime friend, Margaret Spikes; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny L. Manning.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 1pm, with visitation from 11am until 1pm at Power House Deliverance Ministries, Picayune, MS. Burial will take place at a later date under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
