Fred L. Johnson, age 69, of Picayune, Miss., passed away on September 10, 2024, in Slidell Memorial Hospital. Born on January 1, 1955, Fred was a native of Picayune, Miss. He dedicated his career to working for the City of Picayune and Huey Stockstill until his health declined.

Fred is survived by his four sisters, Geraldine Little and Mary Ann Paige of Picayune, Miss., and Dorothy Clark and Elizabeth Perkins both of Hattiesburg, Miss., along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Balaam and Carrie Mae Johnson, and siblings, Herman Johnson, L.C. Bettis, Clyde Bettis, Isabell Gray, Lula Ella Jones, Mattie Santee, Ruth Armstrong, and Ruby Walker.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Baylous Funeral Home, with visitation from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in the New Palestine Cemetery.
