Frank Hobson, Jr., aged 89, of Picayune, MS, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Frank leaves behind a legacy of love and music. He was a cherished member of the Pilgrim Bound Missionary Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully until his health declined.

Frank's career spanned over 32 years at Rocketdyne, working at the Stennis Space Center as a professional driver and private courier in NASA's transportation motor pool. After retiring, he continued to work part-time at Manheim Auto Auction in Slidell, LA.

His passion for music began at Carver High School, where he played the clarinet in the school's first band. Frank's musical journey led him to perform with many prominent musicians, including New Orleans greats like Eddie Lang, Ernie K-Doe, and Irma Thomas.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Rev. Frank and Lovenia Hobson, his brother Joe Hobson, his granddaughter Inissa Bledsoe, great-granddaughter Issa Bella Zhane Harris, and his sisters Rachel Thrasher and Doris Peyton.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Martha Inez Hobson, and his loving children: Victor (Sharon) Hobson, Vanessa (Gayle) Bledsoe, Hilda (Rev. Floyd) Grayson, and Avery (Mae) Hobson, Sr. Frank also leaves behind five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, his brother Bruce (Carolyn) Hobson, sisters Kay Frances Hobson and Valerie (Issac) West, goddaughter Sandreal Robinson Turner, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at Pilgrim Bound Baptist Church, 921 Bayous Street, Picayune, MS, under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by burial in New Palestine Cemetery, 2500 Palestine Road, Picayune, MS 39466.
