Obituary

Dorothy, a native of Hattiesburg, MS, was an amazing mother and a faithful woman of God. She was a retired educator from the Picayune School District and an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay. Dorothy was a dedicated member of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME).

She is survived by her eight children: Felicia Baker, Kendra Guy, Terry Ellis-Manning, Steven Ellis, Cathy Ellis-Settle, Jerry Ellis, Leslie Ellis Smith, and Claudia S. Ducksworth. Dorothy also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, as well as brothers, sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jordan Ellis, her father Reverend Frank Brown, her mother Margaret Brown, her biological mother Elua Lee Green, her brothers Danty Brown and James O. Brown, and her sister Juanita Lang.

Burial will take place in New Palestine Cemetery, with arrangements overseen by Baylous Funeral.
