Cora Lee Travis, age 82, of Poplarville, MS, passed away on November 11, 2020, in Hattiesburg, MS. A native of Poplarville, MS, Cora retired from Pearl River County Nursing Home. She is survived by her son, Derrick Terrell Travis Sr.; four daughters, Beverly Bryant of Hattiesburg, MS, Katrina Bogan of Picayune, MS, Sherrie Robinson of Slidell, LA, and Margo Travis of Poplarville, MS. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and three brothers, Lloyd Johnson of Poplarville, MS, George Jefferson of Battlecreek, MI, and Fredrick Johnson of Fortwalton Beach, Fla. Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Travis, her parents, Edna Johnson and Lloyd Johnson Sr., and her sibling, Almeta Hart.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 2 p.m. in Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. La'Verna Cook. Burial will follow in the Rose Park Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on the same day from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.
