Obituary

Cherry Bolden Sr., affectionately known as "Boo," went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2023, at the age of 76. Born on October 21, 1947, in Woodville, MS, he was the beloved son of Schaffer Bolden and Gladys Cage Bolden. Cherry was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA, and was married to his devoted wife Gloria for 55 years.

Cherry dedicated 40 years of his life working for Neeb-Kearney. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Tommie "Yank" Bolden and Woodrow "Sant" Bolden Sr., and three sisters Dorothy Jackson, Beatrice Davis, and Addie Lee Davis.

He leaves behind his cherished wife Gloria, three sons Cherry Jr. (Deanna), Sean (Zulieka), and Randy (Jeanine), one daughter LaMonica Bell, one sister Gladys Eve Greer (Willie), two brothers Perry Bolden and Caleb Bolden Sr., 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration Service on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Greater Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Pearlington, MS. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Lindsey Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.

A repast will follow at the Pearlington Recovery Center.
