Carrie Bell Herrington, born on October 13, 1935, in Hiltonia, Georgia, was the beloved only child of James Walter and Dora Southward. She passed away peacefully on her 87th birthday, October 13, 2022, in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Carrie lived a vibrant life filled with joy and passion. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed fishing, canning, gardening, sewing, and spending time with friends. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Pass Christian, MS, where she participated in the Senior Choir, Sunday School, and the Women's Department.

She was married to Stacy O. Herrington for fifty-four wonderful years until his passing. Carrie worked as a seamstress at the Pass Christian Garment Factory and later at St. Stanislaus and Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis. She was also a proud member of the Heroines of Jericho.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Cardell Herrington, and great-grandson Tyrese Guyton, Carrie leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her children, Norris L. Southward, Dora D. Saucier, Sherry J. Hill, Annie B. Herrington, and a godchild, Ernest Taylor Jr. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on October 22, 2022, at 11am, with visitation from 10am to 11am at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Pass Christian, MS, officiated by Reverend Toussaint. Carrie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her faithfulness, friendship, and the cherished memories she created will forever be a testament to her beautiful life.
