Carolyn A. Bush, age 79, of Diamondhead, MS, passed away on June 18, 2020, at her home. Born on September 2, 1940, in Bay St. Louis, MS, to Inez Simms and Clifford Givens, Carolyn attended Valena C. Jones School. She married John Bush on April 19, 1960, in Bay St. Louis, MS. Carolyn dedicated 30 years of her life working as a CNA at Hancock Medical Center, where she received numerous honors.

A devoted member of the Church of Living God, Carolyn served as the Mother of The Church. She cherished her time at the casino, church gatherings, family events, and dancing at Mardi Gras.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Inez Simms and Clifford Givens, her sisters Gloria Lewis and Myrtle McDowell, and her brother Thomas Sims. She is survived by her children: Leslie (Leonard) Jordan of Diamondhead, MS; Aaron Bush (Shannon) of Waveland, MS; Fredia (Terry) Eley of Waveland, MS; Kennedy (June) Bush of Waveland, MS; Jacqueline (Donald) Vince of Pearlington, MS; and Angela Bush of Bautown, TX. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Her siblings Jean (Wilbert) Dorsey, Joyce (Darryl) Narcisse, Columbus Agustus II, and Cynthia (Frank) Cain also survive her.

A walk-through viewing will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Church of Living God, 110 Maple St. Waveland, MS. A funeral service for the immediate family will follow at 12 Noon, with burial at a later date at Rest Place Heron Bay. Baylous Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
