Aubrey Kendell Lewis, affectionately known as 'Big LA', was born on May 4, 1999, in Gulfport, MS, to Dawn Jacinta Lewis. At the young age of 22, Aubrey departed this world on January 1, 2022, to join his Heavenly home.
Aubrey was a cherished member of the Valena C. Jones United Methodist Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. He pursued his education through the Bay Waveland School District and was a proud 2018 graduate of Bay High School. During his school years, he was an active member of the varsity Football, Baseball, and Soccer teams. Known for his award-winning smile and passion for music, Aubrey was a beloved figure along the Gulf Coast. He worked as an Inspector with Currhee Inspection Services LLC.
Aubrey leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his mother Dawn Lewis of Bay St. Louis, MS, father Arthur Smith of Pearlington, MS, and Kalvin Haynes Jr. of Biloxi, MS. He is also survived by his brothers D'Quan Lewis, Airman Kaleb Maxwell Lewis, and Tavoris Stuckey, all of Bay St. Louis, MS, his devoted grandmother Ms. Rose Lewis, and grandfather Mr. Marion Word of Gulfport, MS. Aubrey's special great aunt Ollie Lewis, girlfriend Quin' Tasysia Victor, nephew Levi Lymuel, niece Madeline Rose Lewis, and godson Asher Brown will miss him dearly. He is also remembered by his aunts Brandy Hill and Larryetta Laneaux, his playful pet Diesel, and his godparents Tina Sanders, Nefertiti Hopkins, and Billy Raye Raine, along with a host of family and friends.
A service to celebrate Aubrey's life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11 am, with visitation from 9 am until 11 am at Valena C. Jones United Methodist Church. The service will be officiated by Elder Eller Holmes Hines, followed by burial at St. Stephen Cemetery, 6407 Lovouy RD., Delisle, MS. Arrangements are under the care of Baylous Funeral Home.
