Alvin F. Carter, born on October 20, 1973, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, gained his wings on November 9, 2024. A beloved resident of Picayune, Mississippi, Alvin's life was a testament to love and family. He was a proud 1992 graduate of Petal High School and furthered his education at the University of Southern Mississippi.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Weems Chapel United Methodist Church in Picayune, Mississippi. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the same location.
Alvin's memory will forever be cherished by his four children, Nala Carter of Atlanta, Georgia, and Cameron, Aliciana, and Noah Carter of Picayune, Mississippi. He was also a loving grandfather to Adohnys Reed of Picayune. Alvin is survived by his father, Alvin N. Carter, and his siblings, Christopher (Ramonda) Carter and Deidra (LaMar) Thompson, both residing in Picayune.
He leaves behind a large extended family, including nine aunts and six uncles, spread across the country, from Chicago, Illinois, to Los Angeles, California, and many in Mississippi. Alvin was predeceased by his mother, Mary Porter-Carter, and his grandparents, Eddie and Katherine Porter, and Jessie and Genetta Carter.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Porter-Carter, material grandparents; Eddie (Katherine) Porter, and paternal grandparents, Jessie (Genetta) Carter.
