It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alberta Satcher Smith of Picayune, Mississippi, who left us at the age of 81 on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Slidelle Memorial Hospital. Born on December 8, 1944, Alberta was a cherished member of the East Jerusalem Baptist Church community. She completed her education at George Washington Carver High School.

Alberta was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leon Sr. &Katie Matie Satcher, as well as her siblings, Annie Mae Mayfield and John Satcher. She is survived by her devoted husband, Hollis Smith, & their four sons, Cedrick, Norman, Bernard, & Justin Smith. She also leaves behind her brother, Leon Satcher Jr.

Visitation Hours will take place on Friday, January 2, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Baylous Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 1 p.m. at East Jerusalem Baptist Church, with a viewing from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.  Alberta will be laid to rest in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
